Pier House Weddings and Events

"I could not have imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding. The beach has a special place in my heart, but we didn't want to get married ON the beach (although that is an option here too!). The ability to get married on a pier above the ocean was the perfect fit for us. It was beautiful, classy, romantic, and still comfortable and down-to-earth. It was perfectly "us." We had perfect weather, so after the ceremony on the pier our guests mingled on the pier for cocktail hour. If we had not had perfect weather, having the ceremony inside would have honestly been beautiful. I loved having that peace of mind through the planning process. The Pier House is historic and cozy. It is versatile and suited for a variety of wedding aesthetics without being too plain or boring. I felt that our decorations easily enhanced the already beautiful building. If I had wanted to do fewer florals to save money, it would have still be quite lovely. The food was great. Unfortunately, my husband and I were running on adrenaline and barely ate. I had been looking forward to the cozy shrimp since our tasting...so good!! Luckily our guests were able to enjoy everything. I loved that alcohol, dinner, cocktail hour, tables, etc. are all handled by the Pier House. This really does cover 90% of what you actually NEED for a wedding, and since it's all handled in-house its seamless and makes the initial planning process so easy. You already have so much taken care of as soon as you book! We also felt that it was an incredible value, especially compared to some other venues that are not nearly as unique or all-inclusive. We worked with Jamie. Her attentiveness and kindness does not stop once she's "made the sale." She was so sweet and responsive throughout the planning process, and she kindly put up with lots of questions from me :) I am very "type-A", and I often find that other people don't have the same attention to detail I do. However, every time I had a question I was reassured that she truly had everything covered and we were in good hands. On our actual weekend, she walked my wedding party through the rehearsal and was there for the wedding to guide us through the ceremony and the first part of the reception to make sure everything was running smoothly. I had a moment of panic when I was about to walk down the aisle and I realized my Dad had no idea how to fluff my dress (and my bridesmaids were waiting for me at the altar!). No worries, Jamie to the rescue. She was already planning on fixing my dress and veil after I stepped outside. Thanks to the team at the Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks Pier House (and our other incredible vendors) our day was a literal dream. I wouldn't change a thing."

"We were staying in an Oceanfront room at the Hilton and got to watch a Pier House Wedding from our balcony. It was so very nice. We peeked in the pier building and saw how beautifully it was decorated. I could see and hear the lady in charge dealing with the family in such a loving caring manner. I would highly recommend this from being able to stand back and watch everything take place."

"We had our wedding at the Pier House this past May, and it was the best decision I ever made! Our ceremony was held on the pier, and having the ocean in the background was absolutely beautiful. The pier is public, but is blocked off for the ceremony, so it was wonderfully private. As for the reception in the Pier House, perfection. The food is delicious and the venue is very pretty inside. We had the pleasure of working with Peggy as our in-house coordinator. She kept in constant contact with us and made sure every detail was squared away. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. If you are looking to have a wedding in the Outer Banks, definitely consider the Pier House!"
