Monument to a Century of Flight

"So, it is tucked away at the Kitty Hawk Visitor's Center. That said, it is well worth finding. After winding through a thick grove of trees it opens into a grand expanse with series of pillars that start a spiral. The inside of the pillars document the first 100 years of flight achievements. Some well known and some rather unknown, but sometimes more important than the many feats outlined. This is really better appreciated when you are not just rolling in over the bridge, want to pee, and are anxious to get to the beach. Pee at the visitor's Center. Then come back another day for some peaceful recollection, which is allowed due to its seclusion from the Visitor's Center."
