"My fiancé and I were vacationing in the Outer Banks, specifically Kitty Hawk, when our blue English Bulldog, Panda, suddenly began having difficulty breathing after spending time playing in the waves at the beach. As you can imagine, we immediately started searching for emergency veterinarians nearby, only to find that there were very few options within a reasonable distance. We called East Carolina Animal Emergency, and from the very first phone call, they reassured us that they would be able to see Panda right away. Although it required an hour-long drive, it was absolutely worth every minute. Dr. Pendry and her staff were exceptional. They acted quickly to stabilize Panda and cared for her with genuine compassion, professionalism, and expertise. During such a stressful and emotional situation, they made us feel supported and confident that our girl was in the best possible hands. What also stood out to us was how fair and reasonable their pricing was, especially for emergency veterinary care. It is clear that Dr. Pendry and her team truly care about both their patients and their owners. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness, dedication, and outstanding care Panda received. If you ever find yourself in need of emergency veterinary services in eastern North Carolina, I cannot recommend East Carolina Animal Emergency enough. Thank you, Dr. Pendry and team, for taking such wonderful care of our sweet Panda."
"My wife and I knew that our best friend, Kenai, was not doing well, and we decided it was time to let him rest. The only place open that late at night was East Carolina Animal Emergency Clinic, so we drove an hour to get there. When we arrived, the entire staff was incredibly kind and compassionate. The veterinarian took Kenai to the back for an examination and then came to speak with us. She did a tremendous job explaining his condition and helping us understand where he was in his journey. She also helped us make the very difficult decision to let our boy go. She brought Kenai back to us, made him comfortable, and gave us all the time we needed to love on him as he fell asleep. He was such a happy boy, and he wasn't scared as he passed. After he passed away, I was allowed to carry Kenai to the back and lay him down in his favorite position. East Carolina Animal Emergency Clinic also offers cremation services and will be giving us his ashes along with paw and nose prints, which means so much to our family. I cannot thank the staff and veterinarian enough for the compassion, kindness, and professionalism they showed us during one of the hardest moments of our lives. They made an incredibly painful experience as comforting and peaceful as possible, and we will always be grateful."
"I am going to keep this short and sweet so I don't cry. This place is amazing and we are lucky to have it in our community. My baby boy, Rooster, wasn't acting right and I brought him here. While the outcome is not what I wanted, this place treated me, my mom, and, most importantly, Rooster with so much respect and kindness. I was not ready to say goodbye to my boy but they helped me along the way. Not only were they amazing that night but they also have been so kind in the process afterwards."
